Why we built this
Most "free" PDF websites work the same way: you upload your file, it sits on someone else's server for a while, and you hope it gets deleted. That's fine for a takeaway menu. It's not fine for a tenancy agreement, a payslip or a copy of your passport.
So we built tools that do the work inside your browser instead. When you merge, compress or sign a PDF here, the file is opened on your own computer or phone and the result is saved straight back to it. Nothing is sent to us. Once the page has loaded you can even switch off your Wi-Fi and the tools keep working.
What you'll find here
PDF tools cover the jobs that come up at work and at home: merging documents for an application, shrinking a scan to fit an upload limit, signing a contract, blacking out private details, reordering pages, adding page numbers or a watermark, and pulling the text out with PDF to Text. There are twenty-three of them, and the list is growing.
Everyday tools include a QR code generator, a word counter, a case converter and a unit converter that handles metric and imperial without fuss.
Developer tools are the little utilities we reach for daily: a JSON formatter, Base64 and URL encoders, a minifier and a meta tag generator.
Password tools help you create strong passwords and passphrases with the password generator and check the ones you already use with the strength checker.
Free, with no catch
There's no account, no watermark and no "3 files per day" limit. The site is paid for by a few ads, which is why we can keep everything free. If you use a tool often, tap the bookmark icon and it'll be waiting under Saved next time, or install the site on your phone's home screen and use it like an app. Visited tools keep working even without an internet connection.
Built for privacy
If you live in Europe, you'll appreciate that these tools are GDPR-friendly by design: there is no file to protect on our side, because we never receive it. For anything confidential, such as contracts, medical letters or financial records, that's the safest approach there is. Read our privacy policy for the details, or get in touch if you have a tool you'd like us to add.
